Lawyer’s fees for tax preparation or advice or that are related to the generation of taxable income are deductible. Since this was related to keeping your job which generates taxable income they probably are deductible if you itemize your deductions.
Bostonia is right. However, job related expenses are deductible only if they exceed 2 percent of your adjusted gross income. You list them in the bottom section of Schedule A. this is also where you deduct uniforms, tools you need for the job, and similar job related items.
