AS I WANT TO MOVE TO CEBU FOR GOOD I NEED GOOD LAWYER WHO CAN HELP ME TO FIND RIGHT SOLUTION medications without a prescription AND HOW TO GET NECESSARY VISA AND HOW TO OBTAIN NECESSARY PERMIT TO DO BUSINESS IN CEBU

The only way you can live in the Philippines perminately is to either marry a Philippine citizen and get a spousal visa or get an SSRV (Retirement) visa. You don’t need a lawyer.
To do business you need to form a coorporation which will be 60% owned by Filippinos. I have yet to see just one suceed because the greedy parners will drain all the companys assets, leaving the stupid foreigner holding the bag.
well its really hard to trust people here.. so u should be careful in choosing okie
Just go to the local court house and they can help you out but know what you are getting into. Everything is corrupt here and bribes are the norm, so be prepared to adapt to that aspect of the culture.
You say you want to move to the Philippines & do business here. Did you know that foreigners cannot do business here? Also think about what you are doing – there is a lot of poverty here & not much money. The Government controls the prices thereby leaving you with a small profit which they will steal if they can. In other words Don’t do it!
Atty. Yasay the one and the only filipino Attorney and the best in the field of immigtration. He helped me a lot when I settled here in the Us of A…I’m sure he could help you too . Look for him in the Philippine Directory in Manila office just accross the American Consu;late i forgot his Addy it was a long time ago sori I hope this will help you.
As an American who has lived here 5 years I will agree that most of the answers are correct or at least partially true…..if you are smart (can stay under the radar) then you will be OK here….but as one said you MUST adapt to the corrupt ways or you will be in for the disappointment of your life. One thing for SURE….ALL LAWYERS here are corrupt (and very insulted that I would say it about them) but facts are facts.
There are ways to do things here that will keep you safe. EXAMPLE: If you start a business it must be 60% Philippine owned…so what do you do?…. pay a Philippine a one time fee for him signing the business permits.(P1000 should do it) ..then one day after it is approved have him sign another paper as if he defaulted on the loan you made to him to start the business. Now you own it.
Honestly, you can easily have a small business, but once you get big someone is sure to try and squeeze you for cash (both government as well as a neighbor who will want payola for keeping his mouth shut) Philippine hospitality (which they claim to be known for), is nothing more than a hidden agenda untill they figure out out to make a buck from you.
I mean every kid here no matter how poor or uneducated his family is surely knows some perfect English and how to say "HEY JOE, GIVE ME MONEY"…..there is a reason for that, my friend. The culture is guided by a simple mantra…. "lie, steal, beg, cheat or anything for cash… but never never never work for it."
Sorry, but true. Good luck…. and if you think you can marry and trust her (wait until her family knows you got money) you will not believe your ears! OK PINOYS, go ahead and be offended, but first prove I am wrong.
My intention is not to bash Philippinos so please forgive me if I sound harsh…but I just tell it like I see it.
