The IRS is taking Buy Xenical so much of my check that i’m thinking of quiting my job because I can’t afford to work.

You can’t. Unless you start getting paid under the table with cash.
Do you get your medical advice from a pharmacy clerk often?
Why do you want to attempt to resolve a SERIOUS issue without the help of a professional?
You don’t necessarily need a lawyer, but an Enrolled Agent can help with tax issues (and usually at half the cost of an attorney). An Enrolled Agent is someone license by US Treasury to represent taxpayers, the same as an attorney.
My experience is that I have stopped levies or put them on hold, in as fast as 24 hours, depending on the circumstances. You can often buy time to resolve the underlying issues.

The IRS only levies your paycheck if you are ignoring or refusing to cooperate, sure you can pay an att’y or enrolled agent or for no $$’s you can contact the IRS and try to work it out. If the IRS employee (always write down name of who you talk to) is rude or unhelpful demand to speak to their boss. If you get runaround contact the IRS’s Problem Resolution Office.
