I wasnt drunk though, i just was driving fast because i thought these guys order prescription drugs without a prescription were following me… but thats besides the point. I blew under the BAC still got arrested..
i would take the punishment if i deserved it

Not sure what it costs in California, but in NY, I paid my attorney $2500, but it could be more out there. I’d say maybe around 4-5K, I could be wrong. Ask around for the better attorney who wont charge you a arm and a leg and go with them, it may not be as bad as you think, especially under your situation.
They charge by the hour. But they charge more when you shout.
An initial retainer might be in the $5,000 to $10,000 range.
depend on the case it about 450Dollar an hour for a smart lawyer
just suck it up and take your punishment,, you are gambling with the judge, who thinks he is god. so if you give him troubles fighting about how drunk you were, etc etc.. you knew the consequence when you got in your car and got caught. dont try to weasel out of it, it will end up costing just as much for a lawyer and/or the judge might slap additional love on you for wasting his oh so precious time. all the dui lawyers talk big but they dont do anything you cant do, they just use fancy words while doing it.
There is no meaningful answer. You could be in a dessert town with one lawyer, or you could be in LA. You could be looking at a big firm or a solo practitioner who has an office above a hardware store. You might direct that lawyer to find a plea bargain and be done with it or you might instruct the lawyer to set the matter for trial and to be prepared to handle years of appeals. I don’t personally know any that you could hire for less than $500. There is no upper limit.
