Is it worth it to hire a DUI lawyer in a private practice or just stick with a public defender?

your public defender this month could very easily have been your private lawyer last month. Stick with the public defender, especially if the facts are solid against you. I have never seen a private lawyer get a better plea agreement from the D.A. than a private lawyer. Now if you want a trial to attempt to get off, then spend the $$ and roll the dice but if the facts are pretty clear. P.D.
If you’re guilty no one can get you off.
I know because a friends lawyer couldn’t do a damn thing except embarrass the police officers who pulled him over.
It really depends on what you want to pay in the line of fines and probation and such. If you do not mind paying more to the courts stick with the PD, but if you want to try and get a lesser charge and lower fines hire a decent attorney.
you mean a public pretender, all he’s going to do is tell you to plead guilty so he can move on. if you can afford a private lawyer it’s in your best interest to do so
