The tax man is coming around again this year and I still owe. I don’t make enough to cover what is due. I’ve been keeping up to date, for the last few years but I’m still hurting from my from 2000. I’d like to know what a lawyer buy antibiotics online can do, and how does paying them work? Seeing as how I can’t even afford to pay the IRS their monthly payments.

Go to and do research on offer in compromise (OIC) and see if that would help you. It is all that an Attorney can do for you at this point. Then go see a good accountant to help you file the OIC if it applies.
Even a BK can not get rid of a tax debt.
They can help you set up entities (like trusts) to put your money into so that it will not be taxable. For example, if you have kids (or a spouse, I believe, would work too), you can form trusts for them and then gift these trusts each year. All the money you put into these trusts (up to a certain limit) will not be taxed. You kids/spouse will get it when you die and not have to pay as much tax on it as they normally would with a straight inhertiance. Tax lawyers can probably do other things for you as well.

like Pojo says, the most important thing you can do is stay in contact with the IRS. You may be able to rework the payment plan if you show have a hardship. I think most Tax Lawyers are scam artists who do nothing more than fill out the same paperwork that you could do yourself. Anybody who says they have “contacts” or “connections” with the IRS is lying.
Call the IRS. They will work with you.
Work with the IRS. Keep paying installments on your debt with them. A lawyer is not needed unless you have done something criminal. The IRS will not accept and Offer In Compromise unless you have no assets (your house, your car, etc.) that could be sold to raise the money and you have no money earning potential that could make a dent in the debt.
